Yolo County is home to a number of annual events that are fun for the whole family! From the Almond Festival in Capay, to the Whole Earth Festival in Davis, to the Harvest Festival in Winters, there are so many reasons to visit the Yolo Countryside!

Almond Festival
Last weekend in February
The first Almond Festival was held in October of 1915 to celebrate the almond harvest. It was a two day event, starting with a parade Saturday, then continued Sunday to include other typical festival activities.
Experience views of thousands of almond blossoms when you visit the Yolo Countryside and enjoy live music, family activities, and shopping from local makers.
Twilight Picnic
Mid-late July
With 13 participating Yolo County wineries you will be welcomed with a ‘Yolo Wines’ souvenir glass at check-in allowing you to taste your way through the Capay Valley AVA, Dunnigan Hills AVA, Clarksburg AVA and Yolo Countryside all in one location!
Once wine tasting wraps up, enjoy dancing to live music and delicious bites from local food trucks.
Spring Open
Last weekend in March
Visit Winters to celebrate the start of the Spring season with a three-day event for the whole family!
Enjoy an evening under the stars dining and sipping local flavors, a lively fashion show on Main Street, a street fair with over 100 local vendors, and participate in decorating Main Street in chalk art!
Albariño Wine Stroll
Early August
Journey through the streets of Downtown Winters to celebrate International Albariño Grape Day. Sip on wine and Albariño inspired cocktails at tasting rooms, restaurants and our local distillery.
With your ticket you’ll enjoy small bites and a half-glass of Albariño wine or Albariño inspired cocktails at participating businesses.
Hoes Down Festival
Early October
The Hoes Down Harvest Festival is dedicated to honoring and promoting the knowledge of agricultural arts and sustainable rural living through inspiration and education.
For over 30 years, the Hoes Down has generated valuable resources for local and statewide organizations working on projects which benefit sustainable agriculture and rural communities.
Haunted Forest
Late September through Halloween
Come experience the Best Outdoor Halloween attraction in Northern California! A unique approach to high-quality Halloween entertainment. Over 15 acres of thrill, suspense, and haunting.
This is a unique outdoor experience that entails walking over a quarter mile through dense forests where you encounter spooky theatrical scenes, characters, and creatures.
Fall Yolo Wine Night
Early November
The Yolo Vineyard and Winery Association hosts Yolo Wine Night as a way showcase estate grown, family owned and award winning wines from Yolo County. Enjoy an hour and a half of tasting and then settle in for an evening with local music and eats plus a glass of wine or two
Yolo County Fair
Mid-late August
The Yolo County Fair, California's largest and oldest free-admission fair, is held annually in August at the Yolo County Fairgrounds. It has midway rides, fair food, farm animals, kids' activities, musical entertainment, and an auto destruction derby. Some years, it precedes the California State Fair but ran concurrently in 2006. As of 2013, it runs a couple weeks after the state fair.
Harvest Fest

Visit Winters the last weekend of October for a three day festival in Downtown Winters to celebrate the Fall Harvest.
Enjoy live music, food & drink specials, a local vendor fair, our annual Spooktacular Fun Run, and other fun activities for the whole family!
Whole Earth Festival
Mother’s Day Weekend
The Whole Earth Festival is a huge, FREE, eco-friendly three-day music, dance, arts, crafts and education festival which takes place in Spring during Mother's Day Weekend. Various workshops occur throughout the weekend as well as a huge variety of music, song, and dancing. Of all the festivals that take place on campus, this is one of the most organized. Volunteering is quite the experience, plus you get a free shirt if you do.
Holiday Tractor Parade
Early December
Winters is proud of its agricultural heritage, and that pride comes out in full force each December, when locals give their tractors a glow-up and they chug along Main Street festooned in colorful lights and holiday bling. The parade is part of a larger two-day event that includes a tree lighting ceremony, holiday marketplace, food trucks, a family festival and much more!
Candlelight Parade
Early December
Kick off the start of the holiday season with a candlelight parade and tree lighting ceremony in Davis.
Activities include free movie showings, holiday mascot characters, a Santa letter writing station, a photo opp station with Santa and carriage rides sponsored by the city.
